09/12/14 - The footings were poured; the basement wall forms were set; the cement trucks were coming. On September 12, 2014 the first truck of fly ash concrete arrived; everything was going fine. Same with the second truck. Same with the third truck. Then, the fourth truck arrived and immediately had to turn around because the fly ash concrete was setting up in the truck. The load had to be dumped out. The batch was remixed. It, too, was setting up in the truck and had to be dumped out. The decision was made to mix the next batch with Portland cement just to finish the basement walls. Nobody is sure what went wrong but it was a very expensive day for us.
