05/23/17 - The garden room in our new house is now ready to transform from the trim painting staging zone to the place where green things actually grow. Layer one is approximately 12 inches of gravel. The “slinger” arrived on May 23rd around 8:00 a.m. and wouldn’t you know Randy had to be out of town on business. Lucky me! The “slinger” is more like a dump truck with a conveyor belt that delivers the gravel into the garden room instead of the gravel being dumped into a pile outside and then having to be shoveled into wheelbarrows and wheeled into place manually. It took about 20 minutes for the driver to “sling” about 11 cubic yards of washed ¾” gravel in the garden room. It ended up in a large pile but it shouldn’t take too long to push it into place. This will be much quicker! I am a BIG fan of the “slinger!”
