DescriptionThe Valley Federal Credit Union board of directors hired High Plains Architects to prepare a plan for the remodeling of their facility in Columbus, Montana. The building, originally constructed in the 1910's had been unsympathetically “modernized” over the years and we suggested they consider a restoration of the exterior as well as the interior. By using historical photos, we were able to demonstrate how the building could be economically restored to very closely approximate its original appearance. We are currently working with the
Credit Union on a new facility in Roundup and are proposing to utilize several innovative building technologies and systems including: a shallow frost protected foundation system with integral radiant floor heating, structural insulated panels and use of daylighting techniques to reduce the need for electric light during hours of operation.
