As a project designer, Emarie Skelton, Assoc. AIA, has managed several high-profile historic projects for High Plains, including Montana Hall at MSU-Bozeman and the Carnegie Library in Red Lodge, Montana. Thanks to her history of thorough and detailed analysis, she has become a go-to resource in our office for complicated code reviews. Currently, Emarie is engaged in the design of several residences, a Preliminary Architectural Report for a local community development corporation, and a reconnaissance survey of historic Worland, Wyoming.
Growing up in Virginia provided Emarie with plenty of opportunities for exploration, from the Atlantic Coast to the Appalachian Mountains, numerous quiet historic towns, and the frenzy of the nation’s capital. Emarie earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech in 2014, and was privileged during her tenure there to participate in design/build LAB, a project-based experiential learning program. Her year spent with design/build LAB creating the Masonic Amphitheater in Clifton Forge, Virginia, introduced her to a love of architecture’s community impact and the joys of creative collaboration.
When not at work, Emarie enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, and instructing Brizillian Jiu-Jitsu. She is very close to her family, with whom she shares a love for literature, adventure, and good movies.
