Drawn to High Plains’ commitment to sustainable projects and progressive solutions, Josi Wilgus AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a great fit with our unique and talented team. Thriving on our team’s practice of purposeful design, Josi is known for taking a compassionate and thoughtful approach to architecture.

Originally from Nebraska, Josi developed a fondness for the rural landscape with its expansive views, fading barns, towering elevators, and farm buildings in different stages of exposure. Weathered materials, exposed structures, and open spaces are images of her childhood, as well as her own construction efforts of creating hay bale forts in massive barns.

Over the years, Josi has worked on projects ranging in scale from large hospitals to small home additions, but her favorite projects have been restoring the character to old estates and period homes while living in England for three years. From that experience, she became attentive to regional materials, fine craftsmanship, and timeless structures. She holds a personal belief that everyone should have access to beautiful spaces and landscapes.

Josi and is a licensed architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction specialty. She received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Nebraska. Outside of work, her interests include a love of the outdoors, running, hiking, tennis, golf, gardening and biking. She also engages in a variety of volunteer activities.
